JUSTIFIABLE HOMICIDE. London, June 8. A sensational unwritten law case has occurred at Bodmin. Nichollf.', a miner, was acquitted on a charge of the manslaughter of Captain Schieff, who figured in the Billie Carleton case. Schieff was a notorious profligate. He was spending a holiday in Cornwall, and tried to lure Nicholl's 17-year-old daughter to London by means of immoral letters. Nieholls intervened, and a fight pith Schieff resulted in SchiefFs death —Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
