AFGHANISTAN.
AMIR'S ORDER. | "FIGHTING DUE TO A MISUNDERSTANDING." Received June 4, 8.15 p.m. 'Simla, June 2. A certified copy of the Amir's orders to the commander of the Afghan eastern army, and presumably to other commanders, atates: "According to information received from the Government of India fighting has occurred owing to some misunderstanding. The Indian Government, therefore,' is ordering the commander to suspend hostilities until the door of communication is opened. "As we had no intention of fighting with this old friend of ours, and were obliged to take defensive measures, now that he also desires peace we order and command von to keep baok your regular troops and tribes for whom we are responsible and await further orders." The letter adds: "You should, however, keep in view defensive and offensive operations while awaiting the result of the discussion between the Indian and Afghan Governments." Tile order is dated May 27. —Reuter. THE ENEMY AGAIN BOMBED. Received June 5, 1.10 a.m. Simla, June 3. The enemy force near Tahl were again bombed and machine-gunned by airmen. No Afghan troops now remain east of Kurran River.—Reuter.
