The Rarawa/ had to wait at the Onehunga I wharf for the tide till 4.30 on Thursday, passed I the Manukau Heads about 7 o'clock, and arrive ed at New Plymouth at 8 o'clock yesterday having had to contend with a liead wind. She left again at the usual hour last night. THE PAKEHA. The Pakeha was expected to reach Wellington yesterday, en route from London with troops. THE BADEN POWELL. The New Plymouth agents advise that, owing to •an accident, the Baden Powell will not arrive till Tuesday. THE ZfNTEABA. A cable from Sydney states that the schooner Zinteara struck heavy weather, sprung a leak, and was compelled to make for Sydney. . THE KIA ORA. The Kia Ora arrived off Waitara from New Plymouth at 1.15 yesterday afternoon aud commenced loading last evening. Included in the cargo shipped at New Plymouth was a quantity of ox horns which had been railed fronl Waitara. ANOTHER SHIPPING AMALGAMATION. An agreement has, says an Australian exchange/ been concluded between the Cunard Steam Ship Company, Ltd., and the holders of £150,000 ordinary shares in Messrs. T. and J. Brocklebanlc, -owners of the Anchor-Brockle-bank Line, Liverpool. The shares in question will be transferred to the Cunard Company, Ltd., In exchange for 150,000 ordinary shares of £1 eacli in that company. The total issued ordinary capital of Messrs. T. and J. Brocklebanlc! Ltd., Is £250,000, and the remaining £IOO,OOO of tills are held \>y the Anchor Line (Henderson Bros.), Ltd., while ail the ordinary shares in the Anchor Line are owned by the Cunard Company, Ltd. This transaction involves an increase in the issued ordinary share capital of the Cunard Company from £1,335,383, to £1,485,383, as against the total amount of £2,000,000 already authorised by the shareholders. The directorate and management of Messrs. T. and J. Brocklebank will remain unchanged, while the agreement secures a complete community of Interests between these firms.

Messrs. T. and J. Brocklebank, ltd., registered as a company in 1898, to acquire the business of steamship owners of the firm of the same name. In 1898 the company acquired the Calcutta trade rights of the Anchor Line, together with four of their steamers in exchange for a considerable holding of shares, and in 1915 It also acquired a majority of the shares in the Well Line, Ltd.
