ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.

FATALITY IN DUNEDIN HARBOR. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Dunedin, Last Night. The body of .Tames Joseph Walsh, reported to be employed at the Otago Times' office, was found in the harbor this morning, close to the Victoria wharf. Deceased attended a meeting last night. It is concluded he went for a walk on the wharf after the meeting, and by some means fell into the water. There was evidence of his having endeavored to climb out by meant' of a rope, which was attached to the wharf and a pile driver. Deceased saw service at the front, and was wounded, and recently returned. He was formerly on the literary staff of the Lyttelton Times, and before that was in the teaching profession. He was 27 yeary of age. At the inquest on the body of James Walsh, found in the harbor, evidence showed that deceased was present at a meeting of returned soldiers las.t night, and was last seen about 9.30. When found the body was fully clothed, including hat and overcoat. Deceased left New Zealand with the 14th Reinforcements, returning in January. He had been wounded in the knee and gassed. Since returning he had shown tigns of nervous affection, but was naturally of a bright disposition. A verdict of found drowned was returned. Deceased relatives reside at Opawa, Chrlstchurch. SUDDEN DEATH. Rotorua, Last Night. George Richard Willis, 26 years of age, a returned soldier, died suddenly at Walrakei on Thursday. He was seized with j hemorrhage of the lungs while starting ! a motor car. His parents reiMe at Greymouth. KILLED BY A TRAIN. Christchurch, Las.t Night. Patrick Gregory was struck by a train at Walthan Road orossing to-night, and died shortly after admission to hospital. DROWNED IN A POND. Wellington, Last Night. A boy named David William McCabe, two years and eleven month!;, was drowned this afternoon. The child was found at the back of his father's residence. It is stated that the child was playing in the back yard, and apparently crawled through a hole in the back fence and fell into a pond.
