AFGHANS DESIRE ARMISTTC3. AMIR MUST PROVE SINCERITY. Received May 25, 5.5 p m. Allahabad, May 24, Tho Afghan armistice delegation was detained at Peshawar as a precautionary measure, with the exception of the chief envoy, who was conducted back across the frontier with a message that the Amir must prove his sincerity by action. A further large British force is being moved to the frontier, and much war material is accumulating at Peshawar. — Aus. N.Z. Cable Assoc. i SITUATION UNCHANGED. London, May 22. The latest advices from India state that the situation on the north-west frontier is unchanged, except on the ICurram border, where the Afghans' attitude is threatening.
