■DIAMOND CUTTING INDUSTRY, ASSISTING' DISABLED SOLDIERS. Received May 25, 5.5 p.m. Capetown, May 24. A draft contract of the propose'd dia-mond-cutting industry provides for the formation of a company with a capital of £2,000,000, which will erect a factory equipped with 2000 mills. The company lis to train disabled soldiers, The Gov|ernment will supply the stones, taking 25 per cent, of the diamond output and paying the producers the current market prices. CHECKING BOLSHEVISM. Received May 25, 5.5 p.m. Capetown, May 24. The Government is providing a Bill to meet the Bolshevik tendencies in some sections of the community. The measure gives power to prohibit or restrict the publication of matter in which unlawful and violent acts are suggested for the purpose of effecting changes in the political, industrial, or economic conditions, or inciting natives to 'break contracts and disobey laws. It also provides for the registration of all aliens within or entering the Union, and prohibits the membership of associations advocating unlawful acts.—Aus. N.Z. Cable Assoc.
