FOOTBALL.
SOUTHERN FIXTURES. The competitions for South Taranald commence on Saturday, May 31. To-morrow the Kaponga and Waimate teams play a return match. The flrtt practice ended in a win for the blue add black team, but Kaponga hopes to inverse the decision in Saturday's game. The match will be played at Kaponga, and the clubs will be represented by the following players: Waimate; Game, Hickey, Hughes, Rothe, Ryan (2), Atkins, McKay, Byft, Carga, Murray, McCook, Pini, Pbillije, Birchall. Emergencies: Winter and Carder.

McCarthy, Loveridge, Briggs. LEPPIRTON v. INGLEWOOD. A match was played at Lepperton yesterday afternoon between a local team and representatives from the Inglewood district. An enjoyable gamp ended in a ' draw, Bishell scoring a try for the visitors and Klenner kicking a penalty goal for the home team. Mr. C. S. List waa referee. At the conclusion of the natch the visitors were entertained to afternoon tea by the Lepperton ladies.
