GENERAL CABLES.
AUSTRALIAN RAILWAYS. Received May 21, 5.5 p.m. London, May 13 (delayed). Mr. T. Johnson, ex-Commissioner of Railways for New South Wales, in an address at the Colonial Institute, outlined the development of the railways in the various States, particularly the trans-Continent, which had proved its utility during the war. The trains compare well with the best long-distance trains in the world.
COMMERCIAL CABLE RESTRICTIONS. Received May 21, 8.20 p.m. London, May 13. In the Bouse of Commons General Beely stated that the Government wan very desirous ot abolishing the commercial cable restrictions, but this must depend on the issue of the Peace Treaty. —Aw.-H.Z. Cable Assn.
