j HUNGRY HINDENBURG, PIOUS AND POMPOUS PRATINGS. Warsaw, May 9. Hindenburg, in a speech in Silesia, said that Germany had only temporarily been to think that they could be conquered. Their enemies' blood would flow freely if Germany was chained. The time was near when the sacriligeous hands raised against them would be powerless. The powerful avenging German fist would secure the prosperity of the Fatherland. Their greatest danger would be an independent Poland but, with God's help, they would finish the Poles.—AUS.-NZ. Cable Assn. Copenhagen, May 9. A German correspondent at Paris interviewed Herr Landsberg, who Baid the choice only between "Yes" and "No" is the quintessence of a dictated peace. Herr Sehnecking says that it is obviously France's intention to humiliate' Germany. Herr George Bernhard in an article in the Vossiehe Zeitung suggests reaching an understanding with Japan and using the racial equality question as a lever. The People's Party at Hamburg carried a resolution demanding the return of the colonies. The meeting sang "Deutschland über Alles." The Hamburg Nachrichten says: "Our enemies want to destroy Germany, root and branch. It would be unpardonable guilt if we signed the treaty."—Aus.-N.Z. Cable 'Assn.
