SATURDAY'S PROCEEDINGS. I ~~ V (Before His Honor Mr. Justice Basking.) The following business was taken at I the Supreme Court on Saturday:— I IN BANKRUPTCY. On the application of Mr. H. R. Billing (for Messrs Marshall, Button, and lzavd, Ifawera), a motion was made for the discharge from bankruptcy of Albert Percival Perrett, who formerly carried on business as a butcher in Hawera. IN DIVORCE. In the matter of the divorce .petition i Hilda McNamara v. Wm. Patrick MeNoi mara, adjourned from the previous day, in which Mr. L. A. Taylor (Hawera) appeared for petitioner, after hearing further evidence on the question of respondent's adultery, a confession of which wa3 put in a decree nisi was granted, to be moved absolute in three months, with custody of the children to the mother, with permission to allow them to remain in any charitable home. Costs £2O were allowed against respondent. .INTEREST 'UNDER A WILL. Under an originating summons application was made by John Parhani (Mr. P. B. Fitzherbert), under The Family Protection Act, ISOO, to be given a life interest in the will of his wife, Mary Parham, deceased- Mr. A. H. Johnstone appeared for the absent beneficiaries (under instructions from the Public Trustee) and the executors, and slated they Would consent to the order of the court, which was duly made, applicant being ■granted the whole of the income from the estate for the term of his natural life as fr»m May 1. Costs and disbursements were allowed against the estate. OTHER BUSINESS. Other business set down for hearing at the session was disposed of as follows: Civil cases: J. R. Corrigan v. Noti Wairahui, adjourned till next session; R. T. Rongo-iui and others v. Te Hokio, adjourned (settlement in view); George Applcyard and Te Koro Ngarangi Katitia v. J, R. Corrigan, struck out; Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., v_ Willis, adjourned till next session. Divorce: Sharrock v. Sharrock (struck out). WELLINGTON SENTENCES. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, May 17. The following sentences were imposed by the Chief Justice in the Supreme Court this morning:—Charles Edward Rossiter Ruddick, theft of motor-car, two charges, twelve months' imprisonment on each; William Bannerman Rogers, three years' reformative treatment for indecent assault; William Henry Aspinall, three years' reformative treatment for indecent assault; Reginald Joseph Devonshire, bank clerk, 18 months' reformative treatment for theft of bank moneys; Lawrence John Maloney, two years' imprisonment for breaking and entering and theft; John James Joseph Lee, five years' reformative treatment for wounding his wife; .Christian Heuiry Jensen, twelve months for assault; Jean Collyns, two and a half years for assisting to procure abortion; Alice Scoble, three years for procuring abortion and for assisting to procure abortion.
