The Federal Council of, the Seamen's Union interviewed the registrar of the Commonwealth Arbitration Court to aaI certain the intentions of the court with regard to the Queensland tittspute. Although no definite reply was wiceived the hope was expressed that a geiagral strike of seamen would be averted.—Aus.-KZ. Cable Assn. BUILDING WORKERS TO RESUME WORK. Johannesburg, May 10. The longest strike in history of the Rnnd has practically ended. A ballot of the building workers resulted in the acceptance of the roasters' offer of 3s 3%d per hour, and work will probably be resumed on Monday.
