ON ARRIVAL OF TROOPSHIPS. (From Our Own Correspondent) Wellington, Msylt Tiie Minister of Defence state* timbfa is securing a report regarding the result* of the omission to close the Wellington hotels on the occasion of the arrival «f a draft of soldiers from overseas on s4* urdayi It has been the rule for rata .time past that the hotels, should be doted for the rest of the day after the antral of a draft.
It appears to be assumed in trad* *jr> cles that the policy of cloving the battia when soldiers arrive is, to be tbande**!. The plan was adopted originally for th* protection of invalided soldiers. But practically all the men still to arrir* In , New Zealand are fit, and moreover tier have recorded by emphatic votes-theft support of continuance.
