ABANDONED TO UNDERWRITERS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Blenheim, May 12. It is stated that it was a very foggy morning when the Queen of the South went ashore. The light on Cape Campbell was not seen till three miles distant. The vessel struck at S a.m. The crew are quite corafbrtabh; with plenty of clothing and blankets. The vessel is fast on the rocks with a big hole amidships. She will probably become a total wreck. There is a heavy mvcll on the reef and it is impossible for a tender to get alongside. Wellington, May 12.

The owners of the Queen of the South decided to abandon her to the underwriters.
