COLLECTING INFORMATION. London, May 6, The organising committee of the International Labor Conference, established by the Peace Conference, met for the first time in London. There were seven represntative of the six leading Entente Powers and Switzerland It will collect and tabulate information to enable the conference in Washington in October to discuss the agenda, including the eight hour day, the 48 hours week, unemployment, and women and fluid labor.—Aus.-N.Z. SUPPORT FOR THE BOLSHEVIKS. Melbourne, May 12. The annual conference of the Victorian Raihvaymen's Union carried a resolution affirming faith in the Russian Soviet Republic, which would achieve the aims of true democracy, and opposing any movement menacing its continu-ance.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. QUEENSLAND MINERS' WAGES. Brisbane, May 12. The coal dispute has spread to Queensland, where the miners are demanding an increase of 35 per cent wages to bring them into line with New South Wales. DEMANDS OF SEAMEN REFUSED. Melbourne, May 12. The Shipipng Controller has refused to grant the demands of the Queensland seamen.
