STRATFORD JDJSFJSAT JUjTHAM. |, At Taumata Park, Eltham, on ThursJ day, a team from the Stratford Club, tried conclusions with the local club; The visitors quickly demonstrated their superiority in every department, the final score when the referee (Mr. H., A. Huttall) sounded cease play being: Stratford 13 points, Eltham 3 points. The red and blacks are- expected to prove a formidable team in the fixtures about to open, and the try out on Thursday should prove valuable to the players and selectors. Eltham played a plucky game, but were lacking in experience and age- With the assistance of a few more matured players, the "magpies" should make a creditable showing during the season.
