THE HANDWICK MEETING. Received May 7, 12.45 a.m. Sydney, May 6. TJie Jockey Club has decided in the event of Cabinet raising the racing embargo on Thursday to hold the Randwick meeting on the 17th, 19th, 21st and 24th. Final forfeits are due on the 15th. It was reported at Trentham on Saturday (states the New Zealand Times) that Spanner, who up till then had raced in the colors of Mr. K. \V. Alison, jun., of Auckland, had been sold to Mr. \V. Richmond, of Hastings, for 3000 guineas. Spanner is an imported three-year-old colt by The Nut-r-Dudu, He scored at the recent Auckland and ran second to Sasanof in the Thompson Handicap on Thursday, when the mile was rim in the great time of lmin. 3S*ee. He hears the appearance of being a first-class horse, and, good though his Thompson Handicap performance was, the best may not have been scon of him, because his condition for that event could have been improved on.
