Six large meat carriers are being built on the Tyne for the Federal, ShawSavill and Commonwealth and Dominion Lines. Hawthorn, Leslie and Co. have nearly completed,the Port Nicholson, for the Dominion Line. It is 500 feet long and 12,722 tons dead weight. Swan, Hunter and Co. are building two vessels for the Federal Line; Palmer and Co. are building a third, and two have been launched.
