GOLF.
The Patea Golf Club opened tit* season last Saturday. Several golfers from Waverley took part in the competitions, Mr. W. Jones and Miss Cleary winning the mixed foursome, and Mr. Mulr aid Mr. R. S. Thompson the putting competition. There was a large attendance at the , Eltham Golf Club links' on Sunday. club has now some forty members. The official opening takes place on Thursday next.
