.VESTED IN BRITAIN. AS A MEMORIAL TO THE FALLEN. Received April 30, 5.5 p.m. Loudon, April 29. Mr. Massey lias secured a Gallipoli agreement providing for the battlefields to be transferred in perpetuity to Britain in order to permanently maintain them exclusively as a cemetery and memorial to the fallen. The Ottoman Government must within six months of the signature of the treaty take legislative administrative measures vesting the title in the British, who will be entitled to transfer it to the Imperial Graves Commission. A similar body will improve the land, which, except for taxation, will be free of access to visitors. Turkey must punish the violators and desecrators.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
