PUBLICATION OF THE^LIST, (From Our Own Correspondent.) Wellington, April 2S. The publication of the official list of military defaulters, under ■th© Act of last session, is being delayed while some amendments are made in accordance 'with the rcconimer.dations of the. Military Defaulters Commission. The men, whose name*, aro included in this list aro to be deprived of civil rights for ten years and subjected to other penalties, and commission was instructed to investigate the cases of imprisoned defaulters with the object of ascertaining what men were entitled to the limited measure of protection accorded by tho Military Service Act to religious objectors. ' It is understood that the commission, whoso report has not yet been published, is disposed to place a liberal interpretation on Jie term "religious,-' Certain names originally included in the defaulters list arc to bo removed.
