INTER-ALLIED BOAT RACE. GREAT WIN FOR NEW ZEALANDERS. Paris, April 27. A great assemblage witnessed the inter-allied boat race on the Seine, Mr. Massey and Sir Joseph Ward following the race throughout. The New Zealanders won their heat with comparative ease, and met France; Newfoundland, and America in the final. It was a slashing race between New Zealand and America for the last quarter of a mile, but the New Zealanders always had a bit up their sleeves, winning by three-quarters of a length, amid great enthusiasm. There was a strong wind and roughish water. There were few New Zealand troops in Paris, but the Australians were in force, sported New Zealand colors, and cheered the crew along the river bank.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
