Rawsonhas returned from Hamilton. GARDEN PARTY. The garden party held in the beautiful grounds of Archdeacon Evans and Mr. Percy Smith on Thursday, in aid of the Victoria School for Maori Girls, was a great success, in spite of the uncertainty of the weather. Thert was a good attendance. There were golf and target croquet and putting competitions, the prizes for which were won as follows:—Golf croquet, Mrs. Billiard; target croquet, Mrs. Hazeler; putting, Miss Crooke. Afternoon tea was served in the drawing and dining rooms. Mrs. George's orchestra rendered a most enjoyable programme of music.
Amongst those present were:—Mrs. Evans, in a heliotrope silk dress, silk sports coat and hat to match; Miss Percy Smith, brown taffeta coat and skirt, hat to match with pink roses; Mesdames Courtney, S.
