THE MINING TROUBLE. Dunedin, Last Nigfct. The Green Island miners held A meeting to-day, Mr. O'Rourks (presidwt of the Federation of Labor) being present. It was decided to do nothing until the conference with the employer* been held. It is expected that the conference will take place shortly. FLOODS IN OTAGO.
Dunedin, Last Night. The express from Invercargill was held up at Gore for an hour this morning as the railway at McNab was coverea by several inches of water. The train re«hed Dunedin 46 minutes late, and left for Christchurch at noon. A sharp rise occurred in the Molvqeux River on Monday night, and this morning the embankment at Smits (Stirling), which had been temporarily repaired after the recent big flood, gave way, a considerable area of Stirling and ftitangata Flats being submerged, in some places to a depth of two or three feet, •the Kaitangata branch is flooded, and is not expected to be fit for traffic till , turday. Meantime communication will be effected by drftg.
