RUSSIA.

HUN BOLSHEVIK ALLIANCE. AN UNCONFIRMED REPORT. New York, April 20, Unconfirmed news by dispatches from Warsaw says that a treaty between Germany and the Russian Bolshevists has been concluded, whereby Germany is given the right to organise Russian industries, munitions plants and railways and furnish military instructors for the Russian Army. In return Russia is to furnish Germany with foodstuffs and military aid. The main clauses of the treaty have been accepted by the 1 executive council of the Soviets. —Aus.N.Z. Cable Assn. ■ THE KOLCHAK GOVERNMENT. TO BE RECOGNISED BY ALLIES. New York, April 18. The New York Times' Washington correspondent reports that unofficial advices have been received, saying that the Allies and the United States will recognise the Kolchak Government at Omsk as the "de facto" Government of Russia, immediately after Germany has signed peace.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. THE INEVITABLE HAPPENS. Vienna, April IG. Lenin's intention to preside at the International Communist Congress foreshadows grave developments and indicates that the Bolshevists regard the Allies as powerless to prevent the extension of their doctrines. —Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. New York, April 21. The New York World prints an interview with Lenin obtained by Puntervold, a prominent Norwegian statesman. Lenin eaid that the Allied Governments find intervention in Russia unpopular, because the peoples of the Allied countries show a growing sympathy to the Soviet Government. It is not entirely impossible that the Allies may attempt to intervene in Russia this spring, but this is very unlikely. They are unwilling to grant freedom to the press because it means only the right of the bourgeoisie to fool the people with lies. We shall keep the dictatorship of Russia in order to control the bourgeoisie. Our victory over the bourgeoisie will be complete if the Allies do not aid them.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Agsn. BOLSHEVIK MURDERS. Received April 23, 12.15 a.m. Omsk, April 17. The Bolshevists murdered eighteen hundred persons, including four hundred women, in Ufa. —Reuter.
