GAS COMPANY'S PLIGHT. By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. The consequences of the embargo on shipping from Australia were discussed to-night by representatives of the various interests affected. The secretary ot ihe gas company said that if the Minister adhered to his decision the company would be compelled to close down its works, as it would be unable to obtain suitable coal for gas manufacture.
