CONCILIATION COUNCIL. TRAMWAYS DISPUTE SETTLED. By Telegraph.—Press Assoei:.tion. Dunedin, Last Night. The Conciliation Council to-day heard the dispute between the Tramways Union and the City Council. The following wages were agreed to: Depot engineers £5 17s fid, car-body foremen £5, overhead and permanent way foremen £5 10s, traffic clerk £4 2s 6d, storeman £4, junior traffic clerks £2 10s and £2, revenue clerks £4, chief inspector £5 ss, traffic inspectors £4 17s Od, ticket inspectors £4 12s Cd, night inspector £4 10s, electric fitter £!>.
CLAIM AGAINST A VESSEL. Wellington, Last Night. The schooner Alert, for which the E. K. Wood Timber Company, of 'Frisco, are managing owners, was ■ delayed here as the result of a claim for £I4OO by the consignees, Pate'rson & Co., for alleged damage to a cargo of benzine. It is expected the ease will come before the Supreme Court next month.
