ROUMANIA.
"A LITTLE ISLAND." SURROUNDED BY MORTAL ENEMIES. Received April 14, 7.33 p.m. London, April 11, A Bucharest correspondent says that the Allies' abandonment of Odessa is inevitable, as Roumania is unable to feed her own starving multitudes, let alone supply the flour asked for. The Odessa evacuation ;,ives the Bolsheviks three-quarters of a million additional supporters, ad damages the Allies' prestige in Bessarabia, where the greatest turmoil has prevailed since the fall of Kieff.
King Ferdinand, interviewed, said Roumania is a little island surrounded by mortal enemies. She is isolated and unable to inform the Allies of her dangers and necessities. He is disheartened and dazed by the peace conference delegates' delays, fearing the spread of Bolshevism. He does inot think Hungary will accept the Wilsonian principles, and is likely to declare war upon Roumania. Since the armistice Hungary has been conducting a guerilla campaign in Transylvania. —Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
