CELIBACY OF THE CLERGY. London, April I. Father Bernard Vaughan doubts the accuracy of the report that 350 priests in Naples voted for the abolition of celibacy. There is no movement in the church in that direction and the laity would not tolerate married clergy who were without the time-honored disciplinary practice of celibacy and who could not be at the beck and call of their people as now.—Aus--N.Z.
