INFLUENZA EPIDEMIC.
| LATEST OFFICIAL REPORT. OASES ON THE KOROMIKO. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The Minister of Public Health stated to-night that from noon on Monday until noon to-day 27 cases of influenza were reported in the Auckland hospital district, three of which (in the Waikftto) were severe, and one terminated fatally. All the rest were inild, including eleven in Auckland city. During the same period six cases, all mild, were reported in the Otago hospital district, and three in Canterbury. Dr. C. Lesaon, port health officer at Lyttelton, reported to-night that the Koromiko arrived there from Newcastle with two cases of influenza aboard. 'J'he vessel has been quarantined. CASES ON THE TAR AW,ERA. Timaru, Last Night. The Tarawera arrived this morning from the Bluff and Oama.ru to load for Auckland. As there were two cases of influenza among the crew, a steward and a sailor, the vessel anchored out. and the health officer, Dt. Talbot, said the patients were suffering from slight attacks of influenza and ordered their removal to Timaru hospital. The Tarawera sailed at 12.30 p.m. for the Lyttelton quarantine. While the steamer was in Oamaru yesterday one of the engine-room staff, with a mild attack, was removed i:o Oamaru hospital VICTORIA'S FIGURES. Received April 10, 7.45 p.m. Melbourne, April 10. Since the outbreak of influenza in Victoria, 12,672 Cases have been reported and there have been 803 deaths.
