QUESTION OF BURIAL ON GERMAN SOIL. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. Regarding the question of the number of soldiers' votes to be recorded at the poll, a return prepared for Sir James Allen shows that there are 34,341 New Zealand soldiers yet to return. Of that number 12,109 arc at sea, 10.52G in France and the TJViited Kingdom, 2492 in Egypt, and about 230 in Samoa. The Minister of Defence telegraphed the High Commissioner recently that the relatives of New Zealand soldiers who had fallen in the last day sof the war were anxious lest the men might be buried on German soil. The Commissioner has replied that the War Office Is considering the question, and. he anticipated no difficulty in meeting the wishes of New Zealad relatives.
