FOOTBALL.
STRATFORD CLUB. Mr. R. F. Harkness presided at a meeting of those interested in the Striitford Rugby Football Club. The attendance was very satisfactory-and from appearances, there is every prospect that the club will havo a strong membership. The election of officers resulted as fol-ji lews:—Patron, Mr T. C Fookes; presi-1 dent, Mr T- Richardson; vice-presidents, Messrs H. E. Abrahams, R. Masters, K. H Young, J Thomas, D J. Malone, C. Bayly, R. Harkness, S. H. James, 0. Sutherland and C E. .lames; secretary and treasurer, Mr R. Woods; management committee. Messrs R R Tvrer, R. Coutts, Dick Masters, C. Jackson and IT 'Cimpbell; delegates to the Rugby Union, R. Masters and R. F Harkness; selectors, J. Tizard, R. Harkness, and C. Jackson; coach, J. Tizard. It is very satisfactory to see sneh a number of ex-plyers assuming office, and probably when the whistle sounds to commence play many of those mentiorerl above will be found wearing the familiar red and Hack jersey
