Sergt. Ernest Armstrong, 19th Reinforcements, is returning by the Bhamo, due at Auckland on April 24. Lieutenant H. D. Caplen, of Hawera, who has been serving in Mesopotamia, has been promoted to a captaincy. Cr. S- M. Cornishj at yesterday's meeting of the.Egmont County Council, tendered his resignation as representative of the Opunake Riding.

Mrs. J. Brokenshire has received word (hat her son, Sergeant R. J. Brokenshire, is due to arrive in Auckland about April 24 by the Bhamo.
