THE FREEZING INDUSTRY. (Prom Our Own Correspondent). Wellington, April 4. Representatives of the freezing companies and the Freezing Workers' Union met yesterday and to-day and have not yet completed their business. The conference reached a deadlock to-day, but after a pause far private discussion the delegates entrusted a joint committee with, further deliberations. The conference will not find it easy to reach agreement, partly because the freezing companies are disposed to take up a decidedly independent attitude towards their workers. The season is wearing its end, the stores are full, and a stoppage would not be a very serious matter for the companies.
