'•D.J.11." writes:--May I draw the attention of those interested that the football season is at hand. Where are the enthusiasts of the past? We of the old Wainiate brigade always commented on and envied New Plymouth's "?Ui>r" and "Tukapa" combination. Though lighter in physique than we, they wore as keen as mustard and were always hard rivals to conquer. Wake up, young fellows and show that you can emulate the deeds of the elder brigades' Now the war is over Taranaki football wants reviving and more impetus put into it than ever. The Tara naki Rugby Union ought to lead, but for some reason or another it lacks the vigor of bye-gone days.
