AUSTRALIAN TURF. AUTUMN MEETING DOUBTFUL. Received April 5, 12.35 am, Sydney, April 4. The Jockey Club Committee has announced that owing to the prohibition of racing, and the proposal to use the club's premises at Randwiek as a hospital, it is' impossible at present to make any definite statement regarding the autumn meeting. If not held before 17th it will bo necessary to abandon it altogether.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Asan. The fixing of dates for next year's meetings was brought before a meeting of the Egmont Racir? Club on Thursday, and February 11 and 12 and May 12 and 13 were agreed upon. Mr. J. Cameron, of Feilding, was appointed judge for the winter meeting to be held next month. The chairman brought before the meeting- the question of levelling and improving the course proper. It was pointed out that the work should be started as soon as possible, in order to allow the ground to consolidate before the next racing season. After discussion it was decided to leave the matter in the hands of the ,sub-committee appointed, with the object of putting the work in hand immediately after the May meeting.— Star.
