THE MURMAN FRONT. v ANXIETY AS TO SAFETY OF FORCE. Received April 4, 8.20 p.m. London, April 3. The Australian Press Association learns that the situation on the MurmanArchangel front is causing anxiety. American reinforcements have gone and British are being prepared, which, it is hoped, will reach the fronts by the end of May. The Allies have been constantly weakening, and the Bolsheviks are certain to make efforts to push the British at Archangel into the sea during the ner.t two months, when the Bolsheviks will be assisted by the thawing rivers. Tho British division is thus likely to have a very bad time, and should be reinforced or relieved at the earliest possible moment. The great asset of the expedition is General Ironside, the famous traveller, who, disguised as a native, drove an ox-waggon during the Herrero campaign in German SouthWest Africa. He is a man of wonderfrl spirit, and has been- spending the whole of his time visiting the posts on the long front, encouraging his men. It Will be considered deplorable if Archangel suffers disaster similar to Rut. It will have the worst possible effect on British prestige throughout the world, as Well as encouraging German resistance.— Aus. N.Z. Cable Assoc.
