FURTHER OUTRAGES. BEDOUINS AND VILLAGERS BOMBED. Received April 2, 5.5 p.m. London, April 1. Further outrages in the Egyptian provinces include the burning of Government buildings at Rossctta and the Agricultural Bank buildings at Saffa. Airmen bombed and machine-gunned the Bedouins and villagers who had assembled in large numbers between Cairo and Fayout, inflicting heavy losses.— Aus. N.Z. Cable Assoc.
THE CAIRO RIOTS. j
OFFICIAL REPORT. Received April 2, 5.5 p.m. Cairo, March 25. The official report of the late rioting shows that the villagers sacked and burned three railway, stations, wrecked and pillaged a number of trains, and murdered several British soldiers and railway 'employees. On March 16 they attacked the police station at< Minsezel Camp, and released prisoners. The military picket fired on the rioters, killing 30 and wpunding 19. At Tanta several thousands attacked the station. The troops and police fired, killing 22 and wounding 50. At Cairo 60 were killed and 58 wounded before the disorders were cheeked.—Reuter
