The National Union of German officers paraded the streets with the. Imperial colors flying and bands playing Kaiser hymns. The parade halted at Bismarck's statue and swore a ceremonial nath of allegiance to the frontiers he formed. Simultaneously Luiendorff appeared. The crowds cheered and then swarmed round the statue and joined the officers, the band playing the National Hymn, and concluding with the dramatic chant, "Lord make us free."
The Ministerialist Schoffer addressed the gathering, swearing dramatically that the Government would not surrender an inch of territory east or west.— Times.
