LOYAL EGMONT LODGE.

QUARTERLY MEETING. The quarterly meeting of the Loyal Egmont Lodge, 1.0.0. F., M.U., was held in the Foresters' Hall on Monday ,evening. _ The N.G., P.P.G.M., G. McGaliey, presided, and tliere was a good attendance of members. The annual balancesheet for 1918 was" read, showing that the lodge had paid out in siek pay for the year the Bum of £375 10s, £l4O in funeral claims, £24 maternity bonuses, also a sum of £4fi 2s lOd on behalf of soldiers' contributions, making a total of £585 odd paid to members exclusive of medical attendance. This shows the good work done by friendly societies. This sum does not include the amount paid for medical attendance, which is a very great item in itself. The lodge funds showed a surplus of £BOO. The edge has just received the sick certifi•:ite of its oldest member, Bro. P. C. \ lien, who was initiated into the lodge on January 25, 1858, thus being a member for sixty years on January 25 last. The influenza epidemic accounted for about £SO sick pay. The total worth of the lodge at December 31, 1918, was £7763 16s lid. . Office-bearers were initiated as follow: Bro. O. W. Sole, N.G.; Bro. T. Clow, V.G.; P.G. H. A. Hooker, E.S.; Bro. T. Billing, N.G.'s R.S.; Bro. Matheson, G. During the war lodges in the M.U. were debarred from taking in members of military age, but this embargo has now been removed.
