RECONSTRUCTION OP THE PACIFIC. Received April 1, 11,5 p.m. _ London, March 25. i Mr. Guy Scholefield, journalist, lectured at the Colonial Institute on the reconstruction of the Pacific. Sir William McGregor, who presided, said Mr. Balfour, Mr. Long, and other British Statesmen, were sound on British interests in the Pacific. Sir I. M. Thurn, late High Commissioner for the Pacific, condemned the New Hebrides condominium.
UNEMPLOYMENT ALLOWANCES. Received April 1, li s p,m. London, March 25. Half a million women are in receipt of unemployment allowances, but a further million women are idle owing to demobilisation. I A LABOR CRISIS. Received April 1, 11,5 p.m. London, March 25. A Labor crisis exists in textile and other industries. EX-EMPEROR KARL, Received April 1, 11.5 p.m. Zurich, March 25. The ex-Emperor Karl has arrived in Switzerland wearing a general's uniform with decorations. Count Czernin accompanied Karl, who announces his intention to live in seclusion, devoting his attention to educating his children.
