PUKEKURA PARK BOARD.

MONTHLY MEETING. The Pukekura Park Board met last night, Mr. C. J5. Bellringer -(chairman) presided and there were present Mrs. C. H. Burgess, Messrs R. C. Hughes. G. W. Browne, W. A. Collis, R. Cock, and H. Ford. An apology for absence was received from the secretary (Mr. A. Uray). In the course of his report the curator said: With the continued improvement in ,|;he weather early in January the general work in the Park has been conducted more expeditiously. The heavy mowing has been about completed, and the burning up of grass and rubbish is finished as far as possible at present. The contractor for the new conveniences near the tea-rooms has completed the work as far as possible, and now awaits the plumbers to complete the work of laving on the water. A temporary latrine has been erected at the back of the cottage in the sports ground, and the cottage is being painted. When the mowing is all completed the erection of the heavy pergola will be proceeded with at the base of cannon hill. Mr. 11. R. Cattlev presented some ferns received from the Bay of Islands. A packet of native plant- seeds was received from an anonymous donor at Waikmnete. Receipts from March 16 were £2 9s. A cheque for £ll 13s was received from the Citizens' Band as a donation towards the Park Board's funds. It was suggested in the accompanying letter that the Board should asphalt the band rotunda. One of the members of the Band Committee would look after the work if the Board provided the asphalt. A motion of thanks was passed to the Band for its donation, and also to those who had made gifts of plants, etc., to the Park. It was resolved to temporarily protect the Vogeltown entrance. I Accounts amounting to £6 19s were | passed for payment.
