MOTOR CYCLE RACES.
The chief attraction of the holiday today is the Egmont Motor Cycle Club's races on the Hawera racecourse. Motor ivcle race meetings nre fast becoming very popular in many centres of the Dominion, and for exciting and thrilling events horse-racing is not to be compared. The Egmont Club is to be congratulated upon the excellent ;n'osramme arranged. Thai, this is appreciated by I lie riders is proved by the numerous entries received, no less than nineteen being received for the President's Handicap of 12 laps, including such star performers n.< f'oli'man. Crawley, Mangham, Sweencv. Ilowarlh, Caisford, and Claringbold. The New Zealand light-weight riiamiiionship for machines of 2f-h.p. thould also firovide an interesting event.
