POSITION AT DANT2IG. ALLIES DETERMINED. London, March 27. The Australian Press learns that the Germans refuse to allow Haller's Polish Corps to land at Dantzig, as certain to arouse Polish demonstrations in the Vistula Valley, but is prepared to permit the the landing at Konigsberg, Memmel, or Libau. The Allied Governments are resolved to carry out the plan of landing at Dantzig. The Poles completely routed the Ukrainian forces which were besieging Lcmberg in a decisive battle after rive days' heavy fighting. The Ukrainians lost heavily in guns and material. Warsaw, March 27.
General Pilsudski, interviewed, stated that men were now available to defend Poland. They were attacked on three sides, and rifles and munitions were lacking. It would be easy to equip half a million men, utilising the war material now in France. The German army was demoralised and the Bolsheviks easy to overcome. The Ukrainians conquered the Poles only because of their superior equipment, which the Germans bad left behind.—Aus. N.Z. Cable Assoc.
