AUSTRIA.
THE EX-EMPEROR PERMITTED TO REFUGE IN SWITZERLAND. Received March 25, 5.5 p.m. Paris, March 21. The Council considered the cases of the Emperor Karl and the Empress Zita and agreed that Karl had tried for months to secure peace. No charge will be laid against the Ex-Emperor Karl, who, with a view to Empress Zita's health, be permitted to escape from Austria with his children and refuge in Switzerland.—United Service.
