A CYCLONIC GALE.

DOBS DAMAGE AT CARTERTON. Carterton, March 24. A cyclonic gale at Carterton early on Saturday morning stripped fruit trees and blew down sheds. When the gale began at 2 o'clock oi) Saturday morning the contractor had a look round. The building was then intact, but a few hours-later the roof was 200 yards away: and the walls had collapsed. The strength of the gale may ba indicated by the fact that Hip. roof was lifted over the telephone wires, some of which were broken and then deposited in two [sections in-, different paddocks.
