LOANED IMPERIAL OFFICERS TO REMAIN. LEAVE FOR MEN IN EGYPT. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The services of Liouteianv; Colonel Pieman, Director of Military Training, and Captain Brocks, M.C, chief instructor of physical and bayonet training, two Imperial officers who had been loaned to rhe New Zealand Government for the duration of the war, are being retained. The Minister for Defence states that the general policy for the future will be to confer staff appointments on competent New Zea landersSir ,li;s. Allen recently cabled to England intimating that Now Zealand would grant leave to ten per rent of the members of our forces in Egypt to go to England at the Dominion's expense if shipping were available. A reply has been received lo the effect that the War Office has arranged the leave as stated.
