DISPOSAL OF GERMAN FLEET. AMERICA FAVORS DESTRUCTION, Received March 22, 5.5 p.m. Paris, March 10. President Wilson is now considering the disposition of the surrendered German fleet. It is understood that his advisers favor destruction, for the following reasons: Destruction would be in accord with article 8 of the covenant, pledging the League of nations to a general policy of disarmament. The addition of any part of the German fleet to the navy of any of the European Towers would mean that the United States would be compelled to increase its naval programme proportionately.—Aus. N.Z. Cable Assoc.
