EVERYBODY'S MAE MARSH IN "THE FACE IN THE DARK." "Tho Face in the Dark" is a, Goldwyn picture that is first on the programme at Everybody's to-night and tomorrow. Mae Marsh is the principal character. The story is a novel kind of detective yarn, in which the celebrated screen star plays as the daughter of a celebrated detective who waa then a bank examiner. He seems to be in league with a gang of counterfeiters, whose mysterious leader is known as "The Face in the Dark." The heroine's pal is in love with a young bank teller who is gaoled when his bank is robbed! The heroine i„ interested in detective work, and ranages herself to trace the criminal, but iinds from indisputable evidence that it is her own father. He confesses certain things to her, and a dramatic culmination to the whole'story fastens the guilt on the guilty persons, and ends in favorable circumstances all round. The supports to "The Face in the Dark" include a further episode of that popular serial drama, "The Fata! Ring."
THE PEOPLE'S, THEDA BARA IN "CAMILLE." Magnificently spectacular in its production Mr. William Fox's masterpiece, "Camille," adapted from Alexandre Dumas' fascinating French novel, "The Lady of the Camellias," should attractvery. large audiences to the People's 1 heatre. It is a wonderful picture, produced oh a lavish scale. Spectacle follows spectacle in rapid succession, and one can only be amazed at the Vastness of it all. The role of "Camille" is a decidedly heavy one, with many tragic elements interwoven through it, and calling for an actress of consummate dramatic skill. Some of the scenes of the production are particularly thrillin" This picturisation gives Miss Baraks wonderful abilities the fullest scope, and she is at her best. Her play of emotions as she picturises the life of the famous French grisette, are vivid and real Only Theda Bara can put just the brilliant touch to her "Camille" that fairly electrifies the picture-going public.
