PEOPLE'S DAY. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wanganui, March J3. People's Day at Wanganui show was favored with beautiful weather. There wa9 in consequence a very large attendance. The horses were judged to-day, . and some fine animals entered the show ring. \ three-year-old gelding exhibited by Mr Hugh Middleton, Waverloy, was considered by the judge, <Mr A. Hunter, to be one of the best horses lie had seenThe awards were: — Yearling filly: E Washer, Hawera, 1; Hugli Middleton, 2. Three-year-old lllly: Hugh Middleton 1 and 3: J. S. Johnstone, 2. Two-year-old filly: J. 15. Johnstone, 1; J. Walker. 2 and 3. Three-year-old gelding: H. Middleton, 1; J. and T. Rhodes, 2 and 3. All-round filly, mare or gelding for farm: H. Middleton, 1: E. J S. Johnstone, 2 and 3. In the classes maro four vear-old and upwards, mare with foal at foot, draught gelding, four years old and upwards, and r.air of general utility farm horses: 11. Middleton won all the principal awards. In the hack and harness classes a good quality of animal was more the rule fian the exception, hut none of the local district horses could talce away the flmrnriionsliin from Miss G. Maher's (Hastings) Bachelor in the harness section, or the same exhibitor's Romeo in the hack classes.
