One eirect of tlie visit of the Epidemic Commission to the quarantine station on Somes Island is to draw attention to the total inadequacy of the buildings for the purpose. They are forty years old and worm-eaten, deficient in every convenience and cannot accommodate any large number. It is estimated that a heavy sum will be required to instal buildings and appliances suitable for accommodating s large number of persons.
